Brandy Held has a BA in music with a piano
emphasis and a psychology minor from UW-Whitewater.
At Whitewater she studied classical piano with Myung
Hee Chung (a graduate from Julliard) for 5 years and
graduated in 2005. In 2006-2007 she studied she
improvisation, jazz, and blues piano with Chuck Evans
and Brian Hagen.
Brandy’s musical experience includes playing the
piano, singing, and arranging music for pop/rock
concerts. She also had leads and smaller roles in
musicals such as Nunsense, King and I, Grease, Joseph,
and Bye Bye Birdie. She was 1st chair baritone in jazz
band, marching band, and wind ensemble for 8 years.
She also has won several band awards including the
Semper Fidelus Bandsmen Award given by US
Marines. Currently she has been taking guitar lessons
for over year and a half.
Brandy has been a piano teacher for 5 years and has
been running her own studio for 2 years. She currently
has around 25 piano students. Ms. Held has played the
piano for 18 years and has been a songwriter for 15
years. She also enjoys performing for weddings,
baptisms, and other occasions. She has also been an
accompanist for 15 years. In the past she taught a music
class to young preschoolers at the Blue Sky Learning
Center in Madison. For the past 6 years she has been
the church pianist for Community of Christ the Servant
in Whitewater. She is currently working on an album
with her current band.
